Rust
Status and limitations of the Rust client prototype.
rspc-client is an experimental Rust HTTP client. It is not a supported production client.
API shape
The prototype exposes Client<P>::new(url) and exec::<Operation>(input). Each operation implements a Procedure trait with input, output, error, key, and operation-kind metadata.
Queries use GET with a JSON input parameter. Mutations use POST with a JSON body. The client expects a legacy response envelope.
Limits
- Network, decoding, and serialization failures can panic instead of returning a usable error.
- Application and framework errors are not fully handled.
- Subscriptions are unimplemented.
- The Rust binding exporter is disabled in the checked rewrite, so there is no complete generated-client setup to recommend.
For Rust code running in the server process, execute the built procedures directly rather than adding an HTTP round trip. See execution internals. For a separate Rust service, use an explicitly supported HTTP contract and client.
